DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prevention and Education:
The Prevention and Education Specialist will develop and implement comprehensive evidence-based/trauma-informed educational trainings, programs, initiatives, strategies, and campaigns aimed at preventing sexual misconduct, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Collaborate with various campus partners to coordinate and deliver programs and events to raise awareness of OEC and Title IX/OHR related issues.
Develops innovative strategies to educate a diverse body of students, faculty and staff on CSU Non-Discrimination policy and procedures to promote a safe culture across campus.
Develops and maintains annual or quarterly training plans to ensure all campus constituencies are in compliance with CSU mandated training requirements. Assists with programs and matters necessary to maintain compliance with Title IX and OHR requirements, e.g., creating annual reports, tracking of programming such as committee meetings and events; assisting with the creation and maintenance of office educational materials.
Consults with OEC staff as well as conducts assessment and/or surveys to identify areas where prevention and education are needed.
Creates flyers and other marketing materials to raise awareness of services offered by OEC; promotes prevention and educational programs.
Stays abreast of national and state sexual assault and cultural developments to create strategic programming to educate students, staff and faculty about sexual misconduct and enhanced cultural competencies.
Develops and maintains relationships with community organizations and agencies to promote outreach and prevention efforts.
Operations Administrative Support:
Provides oversight for the administration of OEC's office budget. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting in preparing annual budget proposals, preparing monthly budget reports; monitoring expenditures, and reconciling office accounts with the University's financial system; submitting all invoices to appropriate individuals within University Financial Services and CPP Enterprises to ensure payments are processed; and maintains updated documentation on all transactions .
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or professional training program specific to the position and directly related work experience, or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to demonstrate a basic understanding of the standard principles and terminology associated with the position, address common problems of limited scope, and demonstrate work ready communication skills.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in a higher education environment
Demonstrated experience in an administrative level support role.
Expertise with creating and developing quality educational training materials.
Ability to exercise considerable, independent judgment with a thorough knowledge of professional administrative procedures involving in-depth problem solving techniques.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and proficiency with PeopleSoft/Oracle.
